Founded in 2011 by Douglas Dawson and Jonathan Dearden, Dawson & Dearden Construction Ltd is an independently owned construction company built on over 60 years of combined experience in the construction and shopfitting industry.
What started as a partnership between two skilled tradesmen has grown into a trusted name across the UK, delivering high-quality projects for insurance companies, national brands, and private clients alike.
We’ve built our reputation on being hands-on, adaptable, and easy to work with. Our straightforward, no-nonsense approach keeps projects running smoothly and clients coming back, whether it’s emergency restoration work, a high-street fit-out, or a full commercial refurbishment.
Doug began his career as an apprentice joiner and built his experience within the shopfitting industry from the ground up. While working as an employed shopfitter, he met Jon Dearden and worked along side him on numerous projects. Doug later progressed to site manager for a major shopfitting company, overseeing large commercial fit-outs across the UK. After becoming self employed, he continued delivering projects independently, subcontracting for the same company before later joining forces with Jon to establish Dawson & Dearden Construction.
Jonathan trained as an apprentice brick layer with the local authority, completing four years of Advanced Craft qualifications in Brickwork.
With over 13 years experience in construction and shopfitting, he has held site supervisor and site manager roles nationwide and worked on new build developments for major house builders across the north of England.
